Cliff Mainly went to stock up on worm on the big tides but the rain came with a vengeance, didnt bring much bait so he risked walking out, millions of casts but all mixed up, difficult to find black from blow & loads of tiny worms as well.
He managed about a 100 mixed with some very big blow amongst them & got set up for a couple of hours over high tide, wind in your face from the west & a bit of white water so it looked like a chance of a fish, 2 hours later, Zilch, Nothing, Buggerall.
Decided to have one last cast while he made a brew.

The rest of our tourist party arrived duly, Flanagan and Jeff (and Mrs Jeff) and soon there were five of us all fishing in a row. Between us, nobody had thought to check a tide table, but we guessed that it must be about high water as there wasn't a great deal of beach behind us!

2009 Winter League - Registration
The success of the WSF / MAC Winter over the past few years again means that this year will be a Pre Registered Event, limited to 40 Anglers Who will then be placed into a "Blind Team". The League takes and early start this year with the first match on Sunday September 20th fishing at Caldy then moving round into the Mersey for the Winter fishing. As the event is so popular preference will be given to active WSF site users and customers of Moreton Angling Centre. Once 40 names are registered then the registration will close, for those that think it maybe to serious for them, believe us when we say it is the most relaxed FUN league in the North West.
