harrison drive at low water

where do i fish at harrison drive at low? heard of the rays and smoothies coming out. i have fished perch rock before but not harrison drive at low. is it in front of the double sliipway? please help ta.............jay

Park at the far left end of Harrison Drive,by the old coastguard,then walk out past the groyne and across the very wide gulley.You can get across with chest waders,around 2 hours before low,or you can walk further to the right before you cross,as it gets shallower down that way.Once you are on the other side of the gulley,walk ahead to the open sea,then walk left following the tide line,until you are approx mid way between the old coastguard and the Derby Pool pub,further to the right.....look out for a black bouy with a yellow top,which is around 250 yds out...fish opposite that.....****DON`T FISH ANY LONGER THAN 1/2 HOUR AFTER LOW,AS THE BIG GULLEY FLOODS VERY QUICKLY****.....if you do happen to get caught out,you will have to walk much further towards the Clown Roundabout,as it takes longer to flood there.
You will only get around 2 hours fishing in,but it`s worth it,and most of the action is in the last hour of the ebb.

What about parking a boat on the sandbank and waiting for the tide to go out ?

jay kev is ver serious when he says no more than half an hour after low, get back quick and dont take too much time getting back the gulleys fill in FAST behind you

thank you for your info. what tides are best, springs at low or neaps? does wind direction matter? whats best? thankyou. jay.

Mid to spring tides are best,as the far bank gets uncovered quicker.The wind does`nt appear to make much difference,as it`s been very calm over the last couple of weeks,and it`s fished well....however,there was a north westerly breeze on Sat evening,when i had 4 hounds....was i putting my bait into a hole,or if there`d been a few of us fishing,would we all have been hitting hounds we`ll never know,but an onshore breeze will usually help

I`ve already read a report by someone chasing the hounds,who had no experience of the mark,and ended up fishing in totally the wrong place not withstanding the fact that it sounds like he gave himself a bit of a scare by not knowing what was going on around him
Going out to a far off,potentially dangerous low water mark,on your own with no knowledge of the dangers,is a fools game Always go with someone who knows the score,until you are confident that you are aware of your surroundings

lets be clear if people do not know this mark it can be very dangerous as once on the bank if the tide cuts you off there is no way back
the last time i was out the tide started to flood in 25 minutes before low water as stated at the alfred dock
local knowledge is essential i would only recommend going out to this mark with some one who knows it well we had Dave W with us and he knows the area completely hence when he said lets head back we up sticks and got off

don't go risking your life or those that will hlave to try and rescue you
