Moelfre
I just booked myself a week in a cottage at moelfre . i have been before to this place but many years ago and know they fish on the headland past the lifeboat but was just wondering if anyone could point me to any other local marks around moelfre has in august im guessing the popular marks are going to be packed full of slingers and draggers .
The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.

In August Moelfre is always packed with the feather chuckers and if you are lucky enough to hook up, then the resident seals will likely snatch the fish off the hooks before you can land them!
Just a short walk up the coastal path opposite to the Royal Charter Ship Monument, you can get Mackerel off the rocks there too - read the book 'The Golden Wreck' about the ships history - a very interesting read!
If you carry on walking, you get to Lligwy beach and here you can fish the flood-tide for flatties and bass. Try the far Amlwch side of the beach because it has a good worm bed a there are plenty of gullies for the fish to run up on the flood. Easy to get to by car if you want as there's a car park close by - free after 6pm I think?
Good luck - may even be there around this time too but usually a bit further own at Point Lynas.
