where to fish

Post by logger »

Going to fish from the shore on the Mersey for the first time in December and could do with a great venue with loads of fish easy parking and loads of other stuff with a cherry on top :!

Ive been told about mariners wharf and vale park but I know nothing of these places :!:

Any advice would be great please lads
Cheers Dave

Have a look in the venues section, but Mariners Wharf has good close parking and plenty of whiting with a decent chance of codling...same script on the Otterspool stretch, though you`ll be parking 200 yds from the prom. Vale Park is a much better venue over low water than high...same script with Town Hall Steps. The latter often suffers with the local scum throwing stones e.t.c when fishing after dark on the prom  I`d opt for the deeper water on the Liverpool side, fishing neap to mid range tides.

Its looking like we'll be going to jerico lane Otterspool but ive been told that leaving the car could be dodgy at night (we'll be fishing 18.00 - 22.00) :!:
I know your taking a risk leaving the car anywhere but is it as bad there as ive heard :?:

This old chestnut comes back every winter....very very few cars have been turned over down there.....if you`re worried you can park a bit further along in the Otterspool pub car park, which may make things safer.
