NW Dab championships

I don't know if many of you use the World Sea Fishing forms but one of the moderators on there, Geordie Si, who posts predominantly in the South East section has organised and run a competition called the "World Dab Championships" for the last three years with all proceeds being donated to the RNLI. The match is fished pretty much purely for fun each February with only small prize money involved with the emphasis being on raising money for a fabulous institution which, no doubt, some members have been unfortunate enough to have had to utilise their services at some point in their angling career.

Having read all the reports from last years event and looking forward to reading the reports from this year's which was held over the weekend, I have been thinking that maybe we could hold a similar event in the North West. Lets be honest, fishing in February is pretty naff all over the North West and a match such as this will keep the fishing interesting. For one day at least anyway!

Its obviously too late to organise one for this year but if any members would be interested for February 2016, please respond to this post and if the interest is high enough, I'll start to put the organisational wheels in motion. Venue suggestions would also be welcome.

Any ideas to keep up the interest are good....suppose Talacre would be a good venue but it involves a good walk
