Had a session today Thought I would try N.Hornsea as probably less weed about. Wrong. It was horrendous so much weed it really made it unfishable.

I was up there a few days ago; lots of weed down south, slightly less further up north. Worst just after low for an hour or two. Most at range early in the flood, but then worse in close after.

Fishing wise we didn’t do too well with only one lost fish. The odd one out around us, but nothing special. Still worth a bash though, I’m hunting rays in a match in Kent tomorrow and while I don’t mind them I’d much rather a cod or two.

Sorry Kev, missed this. One session at Easington, one at Withernsea south and one at Withernsea north. Easington was a bloody snag fest!

Match was hard work today. Too many just under size whiting cost me. That and the odd ray/dog coming out elsewhere. Still, a lovely day on the beach though, had to strip off a few layers as I was overheating.

It`s really annoying when the wind turns and brings the weed up...lads fishing further north said it was unfishable for a while then it suddenly cleared,but with another full day of S/E wind it will only get worse.

A great turn out for the annual walk off match with 60 hopefuls all keen to walk off their Xmas over indulgence
There was great expectation after some cracking fish the day before but as is normal with fishing no two days are the same with most struggling to get a bite never mind a fish
Catches were very poor but Chris Wray was not complaining as he scooped top spot with a Cod of 2.21kg, runner up was Nathan Phillips with a Cod of 1.825kg
Junior winner was Fynnley Marshall with a cod of 0.53kg, runner up Kai Fisk with a Whiting of 0.31kg
Money winners were as follows
1st Chris Wray 2.21kg Cod
2nd Nathan Philips 1.825kg Cod
3rd Mike Tate 1.035kg Cod
4th Nick Marshall 0.98kg Cod
5th Nev Charlesworth 0.745kg Cod
