Round 5 saw us out on the Vale Park bank with high expectations of some quality action given the excellent stamp of fish the river is currently producing.
There were Dogfish coming in from the off in numbers like this double shot for Dave Roberts...............….
However, given this was a one flat one round match they were of minimal value and it would come down to finding other species if you wanted to get into the money.
Mark Davies was first to find a nice Ray to get ahead of the Dog brigade...…………………
Followed by Roy Schofield with one of 43cm which was then bettered by Dave Radcliffe with one of 44cm which would take the longest fish pool on the day. Roy with his 43cm fish...…………..
Only 3 anglers on the day managed to find their combo of a flat and a round and it was those three who took the money. Dale Edwards took 3rd place with a last cast Dab to go with his Whiting, Dave Roberts in 2nd with a Ray and a Dab, with Mark Davies finding a Plaice to go with his Ray to take the win.
