Given that a 95 angler match at Withernsea today, saw the top 4 places go to dogfish  We have decided to have a change of scenery and venture to a Cumbrian beach in search of the elusive cod....15mph westerlies would be lovely, thank you Lord :D

Wise move I think Kev. I just got back from that match, I wasnt in it but couldnt get a spot at Withernsea as it was chocker with tourists and the RNLI were giving a demo, but it was a fantastic day of weather and I sat on the seafront at 11 o clock in shirtsleeves with a bacon butty then went down to Dimlington to fish 2.pm tp 5 pm. Lost a whiting in the surf then lost the head of a big quid bait, That was it. Talked to about seven locals fishing and they all agreed it was a very poor day in a very poor year. So I checked out Paulli near Hull on the way home and a few other places for next time, and went home a very poor fisherman!
Good to be out in the fresh air though.
Best of luck next week.

Leaving at 6am....got 50 from Formby last night,so grabbed a couple of packs from Ken`s...along with dirty squid, cart, razors and a few big clams washed up at Formby,so if there`s cod around we should nail one
