Talacre this morning

Had intended to fish low at Prestatyn,after the blow last night ,perfect conditions this morning ,but as I got to the top of the prom somebody else had the same idea, and was drift netting over the bank I had intended to fish.So plan B and off to Talacre,this time fished to the right of the lighthouse,struggled to get worm so ended up pumping for 30 minutes.So started fishing just before low .Had fish ,smoothies from the the 1 st cast ,but smaller than previous sessions,then an hour after low had a nice fat bass of 48 cm.Ended up with 7 smoothies and the Bass.Still catching 2 hours after low ,which is about the longest you can stay to safely wade back across the gully.So 3 sessions at Talacre for 15 smoothies all caught on fresh lug.I use quite a thick bait elastic and use a lot of it on each worm,to give a bit of protection against the crabs,they still get through it but it does seem to stay on the hook longer.

Nice one Brian. Myself and Gaz fished Pensarn up to HW Today also.
Fresh Rag, Gaz missed a good knock, Tons of weed early on, which was a nightmare.
Not a touch for me again.
Just wanted to get Gaz out fishing.

really good session for you at talacre we are staying at presthaven sands end of july does it fish ok further up towards high at prestatyn? dont want to be wading off with the grandson under my arm as the tide rises any info gratefully recieved cheers mick

Hello Mick,you can fish at HW at Gronant, Go through the gate on the cycle path towards Prestatyn at the main camp entrance. Cross the the bridge over the water on your right,walk along the cob then turn left .and follow the path.You will come to a wooden walk way which takes you onto the beach.Better on the bigger tides.Eels ,flounder and Bass,but it is quite a longish walk.Brian
