Coming to the start of the good fishing.

I for one am glad to see the month of August
with not fishing Morrisons this year and the weather being all over the place / the fishing has either been very limited or just not worth going out especially from my own point as I don't do high water prom fishing anywhere .
So I have spent this period getting ready for the rest of this years fishing ? buying new items/service and renewing main line and braid shock leaders
Sort out terminal tackle and make new rig's .
The one's for the blonde/spotted trip I was like a duck out of water ? from all info I have had it's 80lb - 100lb mono for rig's Am not used to tying rig's with this thickness line So a new learning curve for me on this one.

I will finish my bait collecting off over this weekend and then am done.
IF I AM FISHING LOCAL I'LL POST IT UP a day or two before from now on / this will give anyone if they want to fish the same place and time as me.
BUT THE NORTH WALES SESSIONS I will not post ? It always ends up being to complicated? plus I tend to fish long sessions through the night .
If I get to know someone well enough through fishing with them local / I would then ask them to join me on North Wales sessions .

Mid August onwards in North Wales is the better time for fishing with lure's or bait after the bigger Bass / And good mixed bag fishing from beaches for Bass/Thornbacks/Small eyed/Bull huss/turbot/Smooth hounds.
Again if you are interested in this type of fishing all the information you need on areas to target the above listed fish are on this site in Venues and reports from what I have read and seen.

Local will see the steady build up of the bigger Thornbacks and in better numbers / the usual large shoals of dogfish will start building up in numbers as well / Whiting if you want them ? / I do like fishing very light for the quality winter Dab's that look just like Plaice at first sight.
Last year through up some good 2-3 pound Cod but late on in January - February / hope this year is a good one.

So hope we all get out and have enjoyable sessions and post all our reports on here good or bad ? we learn and can plan fishing sessions from these posts on this site.

The beauty of being all round anglers (myself and Lee) is that i really look forward to each aspect of angling.We`ve done the lakes for tench and carp,then on to the river for chub and barbel...i can`t wait for Sept` when i`m fishing the big Fleetwood open match,then i`ll be out looking for the small eyed rays before all out cod hunting. I prefer to use fresh blow/blacks for cod when possible,but i`ve also got 100% confidence in my frozen blacks,which i`ll hopefully be stocking up on this Sunday....need to have a casting session at some time as i have`nt swung a lead since March.I`ll always post when/where i`m going ,but as it`s often silly o`clock i rarely get any takers apart from Lee

Those of us that are intending on fishing for Blonde/spotted this month are also looking at Chesil late October time ?
One of us Gareth Williams has been before but me and my brother are Chesil virgin's / I have looked into reports/video's but like you know NOTHING better than first hand knowledge of anglers that have been and done it .

Any advice you could give me would be much appreciated please Jimmy.
PS see what you mean about the Monknash walk 1.5 mile from the carpark Hopefully our other chosen venue the weather is right for that .

Jimmy bit of an after though A lot of people seem to fish on their own or loose the enthusiasm to get out fishing .
Am quite happy fishing and talking to no :shock:ucker but that's me and I do understand we are all different
Either with time/family/work or getting ourselves going and getting out.

Probably no answer for helping or encouraging people that are in this situation
Maybe with the new Wirral Sea Fishing Format of no registration just turn up and fish starting no hassle or pressure or if you get people that genuinely
want to get out and fish with others a prearranged fish and meet like Perch or Vale both should yield fish for all no matter what you experience is.

Or a prearranged North Wales trip on a easy Beach venue to give Wirral Sea Fishing members the chance of targeting something they haven't caught yet. Like Bass / Small eyed ray / Bull Huss / Turbot

I know its all been mentioned and tried before but as with everything its always evolving and getting new people that haven't done things.

I've had a pretty poor June and July so the enthusiasm has waned a little. Just need to be patient, having only restarted sea fishing a couple of years back, after best part of 25 year break, it's going to take me a while to continue to learn the ropes - all part of the fun.

Most of my sessions will continue to be snatched around work/family - in Wrexham so 45 minutes to Perch/Mostyn, 1 hour to Talacre, 2 hours to Rossall. Short term it'll be the local spots for hounds and rays, might try a couple of new spots such as Prestatyn for Bass or Half Moon Bay for a smoothie. Like many on here, proms are never my first choice.

Already looking forward to autumn/winter and hoping the cod return again. Really enjoyed a few sessions at Rossall last winter, so will be heading there again, trying to learn the low water marks on the Fylde too. Will also get out to Vale/THS at low later in the winter for the coddos, undoubtedly there'll be the odd 'easy' session at Eastham Slab or similar in pursuit of them too. I'll try and get over the river to Seaforth too.

I keep my eye on the upcoming session section as i would love to broaden my horizons, but sods law seems stacked against me..!

I am not a mytherer so would just like the safety blanket of someone who knows what they are doing on the beach at the same time as me so i can bugger of safely at the right time / fish the area at the right time... bloody slow learning curve when you live in Crewe.. Happily i fish for bites and am honestly just as happy to catch a dog fish as anything else.. so will never actually stop going...

I fish all sorts of times and day's / from now on mainly late evening or through the night in Anglesey or anytime local .
I fish places well and safely in both day light and darkness because I have spent years learning the places I fish and keep myself up to date with how they change with time .
I myself don't do standing on someone's shoulder type fishing telling them how good I am or how big the fish are I have caught ?
That's just not what I am about .
I like my space and quiet ??? when meeting new people I will always Say to them am not being ignorant its just the way I like to fish if I have to move
around a bit I will.

Like I have said I will post any of my local fishing
But if fishing late or through the night / During a weekend or weekday would interest you ? Then I would happily meet up at a venue and fish with you ?
I also have no problem with another angler asking or wanting to know something about how or where I fish / So long as its for the right reason ?
Like you just wanting to improve your own fishing and not just so you can show off or make out you have leant this yourself and start telling others how to do it
That sort of stuff and me DON'T GET ON ? Am just a pleasure fisherman and nothing else. I just say and tell it as it is.

Pete it's no big thing / that's the offers I got as a new angler and it's nice to give back .
It's not any sort of a guarantee just an opportunity to see how I do things and what I look for on a beach venue . Plus if anyone else other than myself is fishing the same thing will apply you will have their way's of doing things to learn off as well. That's the best way of doing things for me .
I can only offer so yourself and others can either take me up on it or do your own thing.

It might not seem a big thing... but offers like this mean the world to people struggling to make any headway... (I mean me..!)... just being able to relax at a strange venue and concentrate on fishing / enjoying the surroundings would be a huge boost.

Plus there is only so many times i can talk to the "interesting" people i meet late at night on the prom... sometimes i think this might be riskier than the beach..
