We all met up by the yellow submarine on what was a very pleasant morning 19 anglers turned up and hope's were high so we all made our way to our chosen spots it wasn't long before the odd fish started coming in with reports coming down the line of a sole and a Ray had been landed. The promenade was very busy with walkers.joggers and the bike racing fool's there was a steady flow of fish being caught throughout the match with plenty of rays showing. At one point there was a mad 15 minutes where people were landing rays up and down the prom with 5 hooking up at the same time including a couple of double headers. An hour into the flood the tide was pushing through bringing with it plenty of weed which made fishing difficult but people were still catching.Soon enough it was 2pm and all in was called so back to the carpark and the cards started coming in with most people carding at least 1 fish.
All together there were 38 fish caught including 3 sole and 31 ray's with Gary swift leading the field results as follows
1st Gary swift with 6 ray's and a whiting for 352cm
2nd Dylan with 4 ray's and 2 sole for 296cm
3rd Andrew Hunt with 4 ray's for 239cm
4th Dave Roberts with 3 rays and a sole for 225cm
5th Steve Trish 211cm
6th Rob turner 177cm
7th mike bishton 150cm
8th Tommy Harrison 116 cm
9th Jeff white 69cm
10 th Yuri kalwalski 66 cm
Longest fish was won by Andrew Hunt with a 78cm Ray.
Most species was a tie between 4 anglers but taking the win on length went to Dave Roberts with a Ray of 71 and a nice sole of 33 giving him a total of 104cm.
