Low water was 20:30, nice south westerly putting a nice chop and surf on the water. Wind was forecast to be marginal at best, gusts expected to be in excess of 35 mph by late evening. I almost cried off but the wind was much more gentle than forecast - it looked perfect.
I was also fearful of the dreaded weed as it's been rather stormy over the last week - no need the sea was clean, and gin clear.
Unfortunately, everything seemed perfect but the fish didn't show up for me. I had sandeels, squid, peelers, prawns, mackerel and frozen lug - just the one bite that didn't fully develop - baits coming back untouched.
Made friends with this little fellow on the beach, I seem to be popular with mammals at the moment having been stalked by a big seal at the last Talacre trip.
Stayed 'til about 10, had the beach to myself but met another angler on his way out in the carpark.
Onwards and upwards; I think if the weather holds I might take the day off next monday and get down there for low mid-afternoon and stay 'til high.
