Rock Channel Thurs Evening 14/06/06

I met up with Petethebeat and Paul Tucker on the promenade at 4.40pm ready for an early start onto the bank. Waiting for the tide to recede enough we met Abbo and Findus and minutes later were Franny appeared also.

Anyway, down to the fishing. we all picked a spot opposite the bouy and the lines were soon into the water.

First chuck for my self I hooked this Starry.At 6lb 12oz , I was off to a good start!

Just sorted myself out and I was in again this time with a Starry of 7lb 13oz. In my keenness to get fishing again I forgot to photo the fish (Iain may have done!)

Meanwhile Franny landed one of 7lb ish and next in was Findus whose grin said it all really...7lb 13oz and one happy fella (pics on cast and catch).

Meanwhile Paul was back on top thornie form and was catching steadily but it was a busy period again so hopefully Iain has done the honours with his camera.

Next in was Iain himself with a nice Thornback at about 3lb....

Followed by a couple for my self..

Next up was Pete...with a 3lb thornback...

Abbo was beginning to worry , but he needn't have and was also on the Thornback tally sheet. Add a few dabs and small codling and the rain not lasting too long, this was another pleasant evening out on the bank!

Edited!.....it was the exitement of the start of the England game Kev!

.....don't know why as the first half wasn't up to much!

I think Phil hit that first hound on the head with his 6oz it was on the hook that fast!
Well played to Fran who was just as quick among the big fish

Also nice to meet Abbo n Findus, proper sound blokes.

Del and I arrived a little later than everyone else, as he only has thigh Waders. We crossed the channel 3 hours before low, and headed on up to the bank. There were 16 people ahead of us.

By the time we'd finished the hike those ahead of us were already into the action, as we walked past Flukiephil was hauling a smoothie out, and had this one not long after we'd cast in.

Paul continued in the same vein as the previous two nights

I eventually managed a couple of thornies this one was 3-0-0.

For reasons unknown Del only managed a dab, but he'll be out again on Friday night
