Kimnel Bay - 17/06/2006

Following a tip, I had planned to fish Prestatyn Beach over low. However, due to the national shortage of peeler crabs, no doubt brought about by the recent going's on at the Rock Channel, I decided to fish Rhyl Beach with the old faithfull Yellow Tails.

Arrived 2 hours before low to dig some worms. Struggled big time!. Not many showing, and those that were showing were very deep. I did manage to get 20 worms eventually, but it was hard work.

Cast out for the first time just on the turn. Shortly after, a couple of dog walkers started chatting to me. My dog was having a romp with there 2 terriers when one of the Terriers decided to sink it's teeth into my dog.
Result was a hastily cancelled fishing trip followed by a trip to the vets to treat a nasty wound.

After the disappointmet and drama of the morning session, I decided to join Steve at Kimnel Bay for a spot of 'Leisure Angling'.

We fished 2 hrs before to 2 hours after high. Using fresh lug and a couple of crabs the we managed to find.
Steve had a knock shortly before high that led to nothing and that was it. I had nothing at all.

A pleasant afternoon in the sun nonetheless !!

Is the dog Ok ?

I planned loads of fishing this weekend

, but wifey has made me do the kitchen, dunno whats up with her she has only been waiting 7 years

Dogs fine thanks. Just need to keep an eye out for any infection.

Doing the kitchen must be a bit frustrating considering the fish being pulled out of the Rock Channel at the moment!

Had I known at the time, I would have!!!! Probably only big enough for 2 casts though!!
The incident happened and the couple cleared of pretty sharpish.
It was only after about 10 mins that I saw blood dripping onto the sand.
My dog was caught underneath. On her tummy so to speak. The terrier that had her was bred for hunting. It instinctively knew where to bite to cause maximum damage.
