Winter sessions produce codling,whiting and dogs from September onwards,plus a spring cod run will give fish to 4lb.
In summer,plaice,flounder,wrasse,pollack and bass will show.July/August is best for black bream.The best places to fish are either on the slates by the small harbour wall or further along the beach towards the National Trust Gardens at Plas Newydd.
Tackle/bait....Usual suspects for codling,fresh lug,crab,squid,mack.Small slivers of mack on small hooks for bream.The beach consists of a mass of seaweed,strewn with boulders from the high water mark downwards.At low water,odd patches of shingle/mud are exposed.Medium/neaps are the best tides,and you can fish a couple of hours either side of low.Keep your rigs simple,as you are bound to lose the odd one....but if that`s where the fish are,it`s worth it
How To Get There....Cross the Britannia Bridge,and turn left on the A4080 Brynsiencyn road.Turn left opposite a mirrored traffic sign and follow the woodland path down to the beach
