hello all, thought about it last summer does anyone no were you can catch the large prawns in the small bait nets or anything like that tried to get them last year but just caught spider crabs any info would be great

If you hand push a shrimp net down the centre of the mersey over a high tide you may get a few good sized prawns... you need moon boots to do this Now P*ss off

shaun is spot on for large prawns in the mersey but wrong in saying to use push net .

1/ weld a steel net to your moon boots (make sure its to defra size limit)
then hop out to the rock channel at low water wait for tide to come just over your knees there should be enough prawns in your net by now dont take them out of the net just walk back to the prom very slowly so that they dont escape

2/shrimp now you use a push net for these uwwmmmddd is the place for this pushing your shrimp net from uwwmmmddd to bardsley island start off at uwwmmmdd at low water time you get to bardsley you will have plenty

If you go down Scotty Road you can catch crabs and maybe a few prawns to suck on while you wait.
