looks a bit to complicated for me yet where would you use it on clear beaches.

honestly it isnt complicated, i thought that until i made one!! basically your building a 1up 1down rig. but on the lower snood you attatch a cascade clip where you would attatch the hook. from the other side of the clip you have a short hooklength, then your hook. the hook from the top snood clips into the cascade swivel, as if your making a clip down, then the lower hook clips into either an impact shield, or impact lead, depending on what you use. as kev says, your left with a loop of line near the sinker, which releases to give a long lower snood, just like the 1up 1down.

I thought a portsmouth rig or bomber rig both hooks went on to the impact sheild the rig your discribing jason is wot i would call the loop rig.

the portsmouth rig is the loop rig.

Basically, its three lenghts of line, each with a swivel and micro bead attatched. (I use them little Gemini ones). Each line is passed through each swivel. and I then attach the snoods. The rig is secured by the weight of the lead.
Idea is that if one of the snoods hooks a fish, It pulls the other one (ones), Hopefully attracting other fish. Great for flatties or any other fish that uses sight to search for food.
Used it at Talacre whilst the guy next to me was using a standard flapper.
He was catching as regular as me, however I was getting double headers

well i never, about 18 months ago i was shown how to make a portsmouth rig,, i found it complicated and frustrating to build

recently i was shown how to make a loop rig,, bladdy love it and enjoy making them,,,,,10 at a time

i've been looking this up on the interweb, and it appears some people refer to this rig as the portsmouth dropper, some call it the loop rig?? but i'm referring to the portsmouth rig in the rig section.

The portsmouth rig is the loop rig. It was invented by Ian Golds, as was the split rig.
