the loop goes through the eye of the lead, and then over.
then the lead hangs on the sticky outy bit on the upside down thingy link if you need to cast it

yes i know all the line i used is bright yellow, and 60lb before ya all start

this rig works 100% all of the time this is a miracle how this works but were as the brockmeister has one of them link eforgies and swivel if im gonna use a rotten bottom i finish my rig of with an upside down gennie and as chris has said (well he showed me ) lol 10lb - 15lb length of line tied to the genie and a lood for ataching the lead.

used this at perch rock at weekend snagged twice lost two elads but lost none of the actual rig jjust retied another weight on and away we went.

top marks to brock on this one and highly recommended

another thought on brocks rig .well wish i knew about it last year as i lost some good fish in the lead snagging at otterspool .i would rather loose a lead than a decent fish .i will be trying this method for sure

Aye it works, i always use it with the gemini clip if im fishing any sort of dodgy bottom.

I couple it with 30lb straight through giving the option of using 20lb hook lengths - up to 30lb with careful knot selection (ie tie the 30lb with a tucked blood to give approx 20lb bs snood) to give rotten bottom on both the hook and the lead. However as my recent Uchmynnd report highlights - if you are going to be hitting conger then 30lb aint anywhere near good enough - though its obviously ample for ray and codding in the mersey.

I dont like using the metal clips with a light breaking strain as sven suggested (soz sven!) as I find the breaking strains are often much more than quoted - I did quite a bit of testing on this at home with a hefty spring balance in the days when I went wrecking on the east coast. Couple that with a lot of lines overstating their breaking strain and line wear and knot strength and i find it just too unreliable.
