You know what Barney, we traded swords when you first posted on here, but this is just about the best advice I seen on here.
Do the unexpected sometimes, "never catch fishing down the wall","needs a big cast to catch here", "only the freshest baits", etc, etc.
Do what works for you and be happy, enjoy it, at least twice in my life I have taken freshwater fishing too seriously and thought "what am I doing here with all this gear and loads of bait, I just want to use my favourite rig and half pint of mixed maggots", that is reason my thousands of Pounds worth of freshwater match tackle has not been seen for 3 years.
If you cannot enjoy blanking as much as catching a load then take a step back and think is it really worth it !!

Blanking is all part of the game but with a few grands worth of gear beside you, you blank in style
However i agree with the above 2 posts, if it works for you and your comfortable with it, stick to what your already doing... dont fix what isnt broken mate

bollox,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,indulge in some advice
if someone tells you to fish 12" snoods,,,,do get the tape measure out
and do fish the 3rd lampost on the right
attention to detail does make the difference
or don't listen to the advice,,,,,,,

Best way to find out is go down and fish the match, dont worry if you catch or not just keep your eyes and ears open , you will be suprised by how much information you wil learn. The best way to learn is by actually doing it. See what rigs the lads next to you are using and if they are doing well and catching copy them for next time.
