Bass at New Brighton

I had a couple of hours at Maddock Slip on Thursday.More to meet a mate than do any fishing, but thought we may as well have a chat on the prom rather than in a pub. (my beach caster is not welcome in most pubs)

Got a pin whiting and a beautifully marked plaice.

Anyway, the point of the post is that I was talking to a guy (fellow angler)walking his dog, who was telling me about plenty of 2 and 3 pound bass being caught on Kings Parade (New Brighton Prom) He told me of sessions when 10 to 15 fish were caught during two and a half hour session split each side of high water. Anyone heard anything similar?

I think the info must have been a bit off. All I caught was a barracuda, a merlin and a whiting..............all on rubber lug worm with fish essence
