Closest sea fishing location to Wrightington WN6 9SB??!!

I'm going for a session at oglet, merseyside soon as I was thinking this would be my nearest (decent) place to go sea fishing. Don't really fancy long shallow beaches of southport/formby etc. Someone mentioned the river douglas being closer to me and a search on here said guide road. Is this my closest venue?!!!!

Any decent closer venues or opinions of douggie would by much apreciated, along with suggestions of when/where it's best to fish, best tides, how far out, bait, hook size, species found etc etc

I know it's all top secret stuff but could really do with some help please!!!

I live in Wrightington. It's pretty much the same trip to the Mersey coast or the Fylde coast. Plenty to be going at in either direction. I don't get out anything like as much as some so I tell you what's coming in at specific marks.

Went for a drive to the river douglas today at heskth bank. Took less than 25mins to get there and fishing is only a 100yd stroll from the car!
Will have to take the gear with me next time as I was just doing a recky today.

Spoke to an angler there that said to fish it 1 hour before high using lug tipped with garden worm (?!)

Seems like I've found my closest distination as the mersey was 40 mins away, but any new suggestions are welcome.
