Rawcliffe..21/08/11

It looked a good day for fishing, a bit of cloud and a bit of sun. I met up with Kammy at the car park and scoffed the bacon butty he brought me :P
Colin took the peg fees and the draw started, i drew peg 14 which i was told is a flyer :?
Getting a few pictures from my peg is the usual idea. Looking right towards the lower peg numbers...

Straight out from peg 14...

and left to the higher numbers...

I was raring to go and soon had my gear set up...

All the clobber we cart about

Image

Phil was next to me again, we hoped the fishing was as good or better than last time...

Image

The all in was called and my feeder was launched towards the island. No sooner had it hit the water and the rod was pulled round in my hand. I soon had a small bream in the net. Second cast produced the same. A third came not long after. Then it went quiet, really quiet. After an hour i got bored and changed to the splash-waggler, the ducks were a menace, though i percevered. One half hearted take was all i could muster. So it was back to the feeder, straight away i hooked a better fish, by the fight i knew it was a bream, it was soon landed...

Image

I plugged on with the feeder, but my rod was motionless...

Image

Four hours of the match had gone by and i was getting very bored. My feeder rod was still static...

Image

Back to the waggler....nothing, not even a sniff. I decided to end the match on the feeder, this also proved to be fruitless :(
Yet again me and phil had managed to catch four fish each, though phils were much larger than mine.
Kammy had managed quite a bag of carp for 73lbs  This is part of his bag...

Image

Colin won the match with over 80lbs...Well Done (He's camera shy)
Me, well i finished up with 3lb 12oz  never mind you can't win 'em all  and so much for flyer pegs
