Digging pumping black lug locally

Hi guys love the web site loads of interesting reading.
I live in Ellesmere Port and fish out of Caernarfon on a warrior 165
I get blow lug from New Brighton
But I'm after black lug read on here that you can dig it at Ainsdale
Is there anywhere closer too me that I can pump a few
Any help greatly appreciated

Simple answer is Brain I have hardly been out in the boat after suffering from a stroke on Jan 23rd 2012.
Doctors gave me the OK too drive again only recently.
And only just starting to get strength back but hopeful of being back too full fitness very soon.
Been out with my father a few times but caught very little.
It was more a case of getting my confidence back again both on the boat and on the water.
Didn't realise how much I had forgotten in such a short time even forgot certain knots.
But as I saying getting there slowly

I know exactly how you feel mate. I had a stroke back end of April. Can't drive yet as my left leg hasn't got much strength to push down the clutch. I know there are a few lads who pump black top end of the Wirral but not sure where. I pump the Liverpool side at ainsdale or another little mark which I'm sworn to secrecy on. Used to pump blacks out from Leasowe lighthouse but it went pretty poor a few years ago....still see the odd bed when going out for razors (of which there`s plenty).....things might have changed for the better,but you will expect to do a lot of walking.

thanks Dowsey, you too mate. I can't get out baiting yet,but my old fella is mustard at it so he's getting enough for both of us. Back on the match scene this month hopefully. Out fishing tonight but restricted to promenades at the mo, not my favourite venues!

Dowsey..you say you get blowlug from NewBrighton.. there are also Black lug further out on the sloping banks of the Rock channel, but you will need a very low water to get at them so pick your tide wisely.
But i wouldn't recommend walking out that far and pumping black with a heart condition though, not until your 100% anyway.. even then..
I have a fishing mate who had heart trouble years back, he's ok now but he still wont even walk out there because he might put himself in danger.
That's the problem with BlackLug on the Wirral, normally they are at the low water marks and require a good walk to get at them.
It seems Trishy has it sorted.. get someone else to get them for you.

Thanks DaveW. I'm getting better slowly but it is coming. Can't wait to get out baiting myself. It's an integral part of angling success and you learn so much about the marine environment. I personally feel that collecting top quality bait is the most important part of angling success. Regards , Steve..

I ended up going too Prestatyn but pumping lug is too much for me at the moment.
Got about 6 and was totally knackered so have to put collecting my own on hold for a while.
Any one know where the best place is to buy black lug locally too me at Ellesmere Port.
Bought some from a tackle shop only 10 mins from me and they were not very good at all.
