where is there places to pump worm on the liverpool side, blow lug is fine cos i havnt ever had much joy with the black lug out at morton but im fed up going to new brighton each time i need bait

the biggest problem is that im reliant on the public transport

just looked on the maps and if its by the golf course then thats great, can you get black lug there on the spring tides?

Not sure to be honest, I never walk out that far there normally if im pumping there I'm rushed for time haha

You can get yellowtails at Hall Rd by walking straight out from the big wooden marker,but you have to search for them amongst the many blow lug casts....unless you know what casts to look for you will struggle.The blow lug tends to be fairly small and watery

new brighton is full of casts, if they are there i will hunt and pump how well i will do i dunno but god love a tryer. 15 years bait collecting should be to my advantage id hope

Having been without a car for a while myself I can tell you that the easiest access productive black lug beds are on ainsdale beach, i generally head a few hundred metres to the right of the main entrance on to the beach. it's not more than 15 mins walk to the beach from the train station and maybe another 15 mins out to the lug beds on a suitably low tide although the sand tends to be quite firm and easy to walk over. Being a bit of a walk i suggest travelling with just a small rucksack for bait boxes and wellies, a bucket and your pump only! much less of a walk though than formby which is a good 25 mins before you even hit the beach and the soft sand across the dunes makes it heavy going on the way back. both easy to get to by train though.
