This Thread gives you the info for West End beach...look at the info by "Rushy" and in the post after you will find the directions under "Polo Tower"......walk out from the shelter @ 3 1/2 hours before low water and fish @200yds to the left of the big jetty, coz that`s where the plaice are....like the Broadway mussel beds, you will get plenty of action on frozen black lug (all i ever use up there)....on West End beach i have fished spring tides and caught well, but i think mid range/neap tides would be better....it`s a fair walk out on sandy ground with no gullies to worry about.
My preferred venue is the Broadway mussel beds,as the majority of fish caught are plaice....park opposite the Bay Strathmore Hotel you will see a groyne to your right...walk out on the left side of the groyne 3 1/2 hours before low water (mid range/neap tides are best)..you will clearly see the mussel beds/stoney ground as opposed to the sand/mud further to the left....once out there you will see more beds uncovering to your left, and in order to get in the main channel sooner, you need to edge over to the left after each cast (for about 90 mins, then you will be ok)...again frozen black lug is pretty much unbeatable....sport usually dies off in the hour before low water,so you get a good 2 1/2 hours of good fishing.
You want to end up where this fella is...
