my I first say I don't want this to look like I am just using this forum as a platform for advertising my YouTube channel THATS NOT WHAT I AM LIKE OR ABOUT.

After looking in the other day a would honestly and genuinely like to see this forum pick up again .

this fishing is mostly done out of the normal fishing hours that most other anglers do / IE 1 hour or so before low and high and same after ?
I have found the best fishing can be had during mid tide either fishing up from low or even fishing high back down to low .
I also use a lot lighter gear than the standard set up most use / this is for 2 reasons I can get a lot of fun out of the smaller fish and I can comfortably fish and move around with no restrictions / bait for the session can be collected I hour before you start fishing from the same beach either blow lug or shellfish.

I MUST ALSO STRESS I HAVE A GOOD KNOLAGE OF THE EVER CHANGING BEACHES I FISH SO IF YOU ARE UNSURE ? YOU WOULD BE BETTER FISHING THE TIDE OUT TILL YOU GET TO KNOW THE BEACH YOURSELF.

when I first started doing this type of fishing many years ago when the old wooden groins where on the beach I would see no other anglers around apart from people setting up on the wall waiting for high water or the anglers on the rock channel bank fishing for hounds and rays .
since doing these videos and putting then on YouTube I now see a lot more anglers fishing in the same area I make no secret of the fishing locations and the fishing is not affected by more anglers in any way / I still have my good fishing days and days where I blank? .

I know Steve has also fished in the same area and not sure about anyone else off the site.
so if any one likes what they see and would like more information to try this venue for them self then just ask / we just might be able to help?
some will probably say its just flatfish and tiny bass but the fishing is ultra light and you get maximum sport from them I have even used my light lure rod and had the same results.

I am hopefully looking to get out local in the next few days if I can / if not I will be up in wales this coming weekend so if all goes well I will have a post to put up .

this is great as because of work i can,t always get out on the best tides, proves you can still have a bit of fun. can you still get blow lug on the smaller tides at derby pool thanks alex.

hi Alex.
yes you can get on the blow lug beds from 3.5 hours before low / any where between the country carpark access via Bayswater road end of motor way slip road right through to the white coast guard station on new Brighton prom.

they start off only small but if you are fishing for plaice and the small bass then that's all you will need? / don't ignore the thousands of cockles on the beach the flats love them / just clip your hook link up and use a soft tip rod with just a gentle swing out no need to power cast.

the plaice will slow down from now on but the small bass lets fishing will pick up and when a surf is running some better size fish show .

I would suggest if you are not familiar with the beach then start fishing 3 hours after high by the white coast guard look out station / head towards the single pole that stands alone left of the groins / when the bank just to the left of the pole starts to uncover get on it you will need waders do do this early or just wait till its shallow enough for wellies ? DON'T VENTURE TOO FAR UP THE BANK AS YOU WILL GO PAST A VERY NARROW PATCH THAT THE FISH FOLLOW OVER THE SHELFISH BEDS.
