wrong!! Copthorne Lake & back pools was the venue. Ice on the lake when we arrived, very cold northerly all day with an hours rain in the middle, and it was reet in me mush all day!!
Out of 32 that braved the elements, only 17 weighed in!
Top rod on the day, was Eddie Kenny....9lbs 13ozs, 2 fish, 1st after
20 mins, and a raggy 7.5lb carp with only 10 mins from the death!
2nd was Terry Bradshaw with 7lbs dead, thanks to 2 F1s in the last
1/2hr, and joint 3rd was Trevor Bentley and yours truly with 5lbs 13ozs
of hard earned silvers. (There was more than 60 fish in my net)
Even those that brought bloodworm & joker struggled aswell!
If any one was thinking of fishing at Copthorne, dont let this result put you off..... it really is a great venue, especially in the summer months, with both quality fish and numerous species on offer. Of course, a little
local knowledge helps, but a good days sport can be had from most pegs.
When the weather warms up a little, I'll do a proper feature on this, and some of the other fisheries that we visit through the year, along with
photo's, directions & tactics etc....
