Fished the high at Rossall point last night. Windy with a big sea, however blowing from the south so gave some shelter and (I hoped..) would hold the tide back a bit.
Target was cod, picked up some out of hours fresh worm in Fleetwood and was on the beach for 7, with high at around 10:48. Unseasonably warm - it is November and it didn't drop below 16 DegsC!
Weed not too bad, sea was brutal though - white water as far as I could cast. No coddos unfortunately but three really good bass, best at 52cm, gave a cracking account of itself in the waves. Few whiting too. First (and better) two bass early in the flood in the first half hour or so of fishing.
Packed up happy at HW, I'd been pushed to the corner of the beach by a breakwater, no chance of seeing any bites and if the lead moved I was getting swept into the breakwater.
This was my second outing here, two weeks back managed lots of whiting and dogs. Looking forward to the next attempt, cracking venue.

Almost a year to the day since I found the beach gear at the back of the garage and got back to the seaside, after about 25 years of no sea fishing.
It’s been a great year and am absolutely hooked again.
This forum has been a massive help, masses of information on venues and a huge archive of reports. In no small part it got me back out and I always use it to research all my trips out. Thanks to all of you that post reports and a special thanks for the venue info - it’s priceless.
I encourage all of you that read the forum to get posting to add to this wealth of information. Sure, Facebook etc is more popular these days, but it doesn’t come close as a source of knowledge!
Target of a cod dinner with home caught fish remains outstanding, I’ll keep you all posted as to how this goes….

Nice session andy haven’t fished rossall for 30 yrs used to good by the hospital and the sea cadets I think it was called !what’s the parking situation walk wise to the beach

Parking good for all the marks around there. Rossall Point is maybe a ten minute walk from the Sea Cadets car park, along an easy pedestrian promenade. Sea cadets mark is literally over a small dune from the car park. The other marks round the headland, including the Hospital you mention, all have easy street or free car park parking close to the shore.
