Otterspool Mersey road end

Fished otters yesterday 9am 1pm wind was quite strong but still well fish able bit slow to start then whiting came on the feed lots of them plus the odd dog fish then I had first cod of season a 44cm a good session for me and cousin Brian bait was lug, squid,Mac, a lad further down had a few cod so they are showing.

Good fishing mate. Encouraging to see one or two in the river, already seems to be more than last year!

That is exiting news... every cod i ve ever caught has been microscopic...!! Good session there mate.

Sounds encouraging , was planning on the Humber on Monday but may go west instead

Blackpool has fished very well for cod and bass for the past week but the wind is changing now

Should be there now, had to cancel due to a family bereavement. Would appreciate any catch reports though just to see what I have missed .

Great session. I seem to pick the 'tackle graveyard' areas when I fish otters.

Nice Session, we had planned to go this Friday before seeing your report, but now the place could be heaving with Anglers now!!

So, we fished Mersey Road Today, report as promised-
4 Hour Session up to H.W.
Great Venue for the likes of me and Gaz, with our bad knees...
Easy access to the fishing, short walk, yeh, no Codling, but at least we were catching Whiting.
Running Ledger, Frozen Lug, Squid, and the most Horrible "Vac Packed" Lug, Blanched, then in the freezer for 30 mins, then Vac Packed, in the Freezer since May. Rubbish, mushy mess, anyone else had this with Vac Packed Lug??

I had a pack of "mixed sea fishing bait" from go outdoors last year and there was razors, lug, crab and squid, three of each. They were vac packed and frozen and were very good all at the bargain price of £5.50. Went to get some more a month ago but there wasnt any only "pike bait". Thats where I think I caught the dreaded lurgeys and have been ill since.
