Suprise and first Thornback Ray from Townhall Steps

Me and Ste Atko set off to some fishing meeting at Townhall Steps. The weather was warm and lush. Grey but ok.
We found ourselves stuck into the Flounders and odd Codling which kept our spirits high
I was eager to winkle out something bigger. Ste had a good few Flounder, I followed pursuit in the fashion of Flounders, with the first Codling out only small but welcome on my usual scratching tactic.
I sat on my rod trying to pull out a fish on my Wessex rig and thought there's bites this'll be a good session.
I noticed bites but wasn't connecting on my lower snood. So I switched up to a new hook and that was the path I chose.
Following the rig switch up, I managed my first Thornback Ray at Townhall or anywhere high water on the Wirral side. Chuffed to bits I was and luckily a passerbyer was there to film the catch.
