First Ever Hound On One Crab Left From Match Guinea Gap

Had no intention of catching on my big rod but took it anyway. Wanted to practice some Flattie fishing on two light rods. Ended up fishing three and on my second cast I used half a peeler crab only one left from Sunday and it caught me a nice strong male Smoothound
The fight off the promenade was incredible it was out some distance and it went down tide uptide you name it. I used a two hook flapper loop rig with size 6s. Ended up handling the rod to Kiera and going down for it. Thank god she was there.
Ended up with one whiting first chuck hound second chuck.
Then the tide stopped moving for a bit then a tornado hit us and loads of weed came onto our lines.
All in all great session.

Good session Tom

Nearly lost the rod at Talacre today - three times. Hounds ripping the rod out the rest and on one occasion the rod went flying up the beach and into the water. only just got to it. Fantastic fighting fish.

Finished with 9 of them, breezy but good day to be out

Great session Patriot. I've found if you don't set the drag loose you tend to lose the bigger hounds they spit the hook. I found this out years ago and only just started to remember recently again.
I had about 8 proper rod pulling into Sea takes over the course of three sessions. Looking forward to when they'll be taking squid baits more frequently next month
