Round 6 is a little bit different we will be fishing Seaforth beach early evening on SATURDAY 13th January fishing from 4.30 pm to 8.30pm fishing into darkness .
We will be meeting up in MARINE LAKE CAR PARK , the car park is pay and display but free after 5pm so yo will only have to pay for an hour or so.
Seaforth can throw up some decent fish on a good day ,It's quite a long walk out to the beach but the longest part of the walk is on tarmac so its a suitable venue to take a trolly but my advice is to travel light .
The beach can be very muddy but could be completely mud free it changes with each tide but if its muddy anything you put on the floor will get covered in sloppy mud , eg I will be taking 1 rod 1rod rest 1 box no rod bags or anything else i would normaly lie on the beach while fishing .
As said we will be meeting up in the Marine Lake car park the Address of the car park is Unnamed road,Waterloo, liverpool L22 5RN.
I will be there from 2.00pm and we will book on then make the walk to the beach in your own time and all meet up at the end of the path before you go on the beach and when everyone is at the bottom we will walk onto the beach together as this beach does have patches of soft mud so all walking together following a safe route to the waters edge . please try and be there by 3.30 as i will be leaving the car park then, if you arrive after that and don't know the safe route onto the beach please ring me when you arrive [07581 576 599] .
The format for this match will be biggest flat and round with the 2 pools for biggest fish and smallest fish The target for the day will be the elusive mersey unicorn but should be plenty of whiting and a few flatties .
Please place Lugg orders in usual thread and dont forget you head torch.
If i have missed anything out or something your not sure about message me or call me and i will try and answer any questions you have .

Hi. I’ve not fished Here before. Hoping for a bit of advice guys. Is it snaggy? Does the tide run hard…what weights do you need? Cheers.

Fished it for many years and taken some good fish along the way....if i was at the match i would head for my usual spot which is by the post 30yds from the rocks....you can see where i mean if you look at the venue info...if you can cast in to the flow you`ve got a good chance of finding an elusive cod....i use up n over rigs with black n squid cocktail for most of my cod fishing...blow lug can also be a killer bait....besides that there`s always a chance of conger (had them to 9lb and huss)on big fish /squid baits.....on the other hand, loop rigs with worm/mack/bluey /squid will take whiting and dabs.....it`s usually snag free until the tide starts to flood, then you might lose a rig....i use 6oz or 7oz leads, depending on the tidal pull.

A reminder to everyone NOT to go past the corner of the rocks as this will incur the wrath of the port police and put access to the beach in jeopardy.... :naughty:
