ROUND 7 Seacombe RESULT AND REPORT

Post by mark davies »

Round 7 saw 17 anglers turn out for this one on a colder than forecast morning with a brisk wind .
We all met up on the road by Guniea Gap baths and booked on once everyone arrived we all headed down the prom to get set up there were all ready quite a few anglers on the prom with some pleasure anglers and another small match going on so we all pread out from the gap up as far as the tunnel vents .
Fishing was slow from the start with only the odd fish being landed in the first hour there was plenty of crabs about with baits coming back stripped and crabs clinging on to the hooks .
After the first couple of hours a few had got at least one half of the combo on their cards mainly whiting .
With about an hour to go a couple of people had got a flat and round carded and the wind eased off a bit but it was still very cold ,2.30 soon came and all in was called and back to the cars .
Back at the cars everyone had a hot drink or soup while I went through the results which didnt take to long as only 12 cards were handed in with the majority only getting 1 fish with only 5 people getting a flat and a round so the final results were as follows .
1st place went to Jordan Robberts with a Whiting of 29cm and a Flounderof 31cm giving him a winning total of 60cm
2nd place went to John Waugh who had a codling of 26cm and a Flounder of 32cm giving him a total of 58cm
3rd place went to mr Akios Richie Fisher who had found a dab of 26cm and a whiting of 29cm for a total of 55 cm
the only others to find the combo was Roy Scofield and Don Adamson finishing 4th and 5th

Biggest fish went to John Waugh with his 32cm flounder
smallest fish went to Graham Darlington with a whiting of 14cm

After the presentation we had a chat regarding the next match on the 11th feb everyone was in favour of switching it to the Town Hall Steps sticking to the same fishing times , so hope to see as many there as possible .

AM NOT ? . THIS SITE IS IT'S OWN WORST ENEMY THE WAY PEOPLE ARE ON IT AND THE STRUCTURE OF IT.

It's as if they don't want it to be like past years with lots of people on posting or replying every day.

Its more like 2 separate sections the match group that only bother with the match section and hardly ever support or get involved with the
Sea fishing and fishing reports section unless it's one of the match angler's posting a report .
