Round 7 result and report
Well we all met up in the pub carpark on a bright and breezy morning so after having a catch up waiting for everyone to arrive by 12.45 everyone was there and booked on so just after 1 we all walked off with a revised start time so as we walked some opted for the long walk to the far end some went just over halfway and some of us opted for the short walk to the end of the sandunes. 2 o'clock came and we started wasn't long before reports were coming in of some early catches with john waugh getting a dab and a dog but nothing up our end but fish started to be landed further down with Dave Radcliffe finding the hounds steadily down to low so with nothing showing our end Dale Edwards decided to move further down the beach to join the next group then within 10 minutes of Dale moving I had my first hound taking a frozen hermit crab. The wind was a bit breezy but not too bad but this did keep a steady flow of weed up and down the beach with some having more than others.fishing sounded like it had been steady up the whole length of the beach with most landing fish so as the tide turned would are end improve well it did with hounds taking the bait within minutes of hitting the water most of the hounds caught were in the mid 70cm range with a few 80 cm plus and a couple of good ones just under a meter unfortunately 6.30 was upon us and all in was called and the long trek back to the carpark and the results collected. There were 17 people fishing with 15 card's handed in the results were close with a total of 74 hounds, 28 dabs, 5 tope a dog and a whiting recorded.
