Golden Grey Mullet Thornback Dogfish

We'll guys me gaz and ste set off to cymran and things were super slow. I thought so the turbot there's none around so launched a full lug three hook flapper in the drink. Then we all had a chat and bells rang then ste said hit it Tom quick. Then held the told felt thumps and thought I'm having this fish even if it's a whiting but came in and thought cool a small schoolie but then on closer inspection it turned out to be my first UK mullet and a golden grey at that! 28cm.
I was buzzing mad thing was it was double hooked!
Anyway we left for food and a decent wait for the next tide ate went home but me and gaz eagerly wanted a small eyed well I did for a bit then got bored as I had loads of ray bites on single 4/0 but nothing hooked apart from losing a nice ray of some sort then thought screw this I'm using a double penel banged it out straight away got better bites but waited as I didn't want to lose this one then it arches over like mad to the point where I had to hit it compressing the Ron Thompson like it was a normal rod any way fought like mad and then I got it in to sight 3ft out looking like a double figure hound then the weight came lose and thought ah ffs. But realised I had a 5lb thorny on there too. Cast out again dogfish pretty big one for a dog. Gaz had a solitary whiting and that's all he had on a double session.
Packed up before high it was so hard to get a bite I lost two really nice fish but I'll settle with the golden grey mullet all day. Not really fascinated by rays as much anymore. Gets same old quick in this life.
Off home machines coffee for me cheese burger for gaz and a shake. Got to bed and went to work.
