Round 2 Result and Report Talacre 13/06/26

Round 2 results and report

Round 2 saw us at talacre 8 anglers and 2 juniors attended this one. We met up in the beach carpark from 11 o'clock and by 11.45 everyone was booked on so they started the long walk out the boundaries started at the end of the sand dunes and as far to the right as you wanted to walk .

Most of us took the shorter walk and set up to the right of the dunes and a couple decided to make a longer walk. Soon enough it was 1 o'clock and All in was called and it wasn't long before the first fish was on the beach but it wasn't to be the start of a fish fest there was a steady flow of fish landed this continued until about an hour before low then it went quiet until about 30 minutes after low with a mixture of hounds, dogs and the odd flattie. The weather was fine but the wind made it hard work with 20mph plus wind blowing constantly from left to right the weed wasn't to bad. Soon enough it was 5.30 and we All made the walk back to the carpark which was hard going with the wind in your face.

So while everyone got there breath back and shook all the sand of everything I totted up the cards.

Top rod on the day was the Talacre master Brian Roper with 9 hounds and a dog for 678cm

2nd was Dylan Kensall who only found 1 hound but had 11 dog's and a conger to go with it for 611cm.

3rd was Mr envelope Mike Bishton with 5 hounds and 3 dog's for 470cm.

4th Robert Turner 446cm

5th Hughie O'Connor 431

6th mark Davies 404cm

7th David Andrew Lunt 199cm

8th Ian Macfarlane 144cm

Biggest hound went to Brian roper with a 95cm hound.

Biggest fish other than a hound went to Dylan Kendal with a conger of 85cm.

The bonus fish pool was biggest bass but this rolls over again as no bass were caught.

The golden peg was number 5 which was me but I didn't win the match so it rolls on .

Both juniors caught with Harry Jones finding a hound of 76cm

And Jonah Kensall finding 3 dogs for 120cm

Well done to the boys for sticking it out because the wind was relentless

All in all it was a good day with a good mixture of fish caught
