power gum

been using crimps on most of my rigs to secure snood swivels but fancy giving stopknots a go, but what breaking strain should i go for and also looked over the rig section and saw they seem to be tied with powergum whats the difference to normal line and will the same knot do to keep this line tight against the swivel

I use Ultima 10lb power gum these days,as it`s much softer than any other i`ve tried,and i find this helps to get a secure knot.Power gum won`t damage your main line/snood line like mono could,due to it`s softness/elasticity

Sliding float stops are a neater alternative to power gum and just as easy to adjust.The new drennan gripper stops which are carrot shaped rather than oval are the best.

I use either the floats stops, a couple of bits of silicone with the line doubled through ( depending if I have any of the right sort of tubing left ) or telephone inner wire coiled round, works a treat and cheap as chips ! ( free if you rummage in skips !
