club lake 22/11

Post by bigdave »

went to my club  lake this morning for a couple of hours, mat alan having a walk around as i was unlocking the gate , we chatted as i set up before he went to do some pics and venues for the site

i started on the pole at 9 meters and fishing with hemp and caster, id also brought along some worm and some old pinkies that were at the back of the fridge, it was slow going for half an hour with not even a bite, it stated to rain slightly so i went to put my coat on...it wasnt there id dropped it on the way :eeeek: , to make matters worse my keys were in the pocket  ,there was nobody else on the lake to look after my gear so i tackled down and retraced my steps, luckily i found my coat not to far away i turned around again, went back and set up in the same swim,

back on the caster and hemp and again not a sniff on it, i was regreting not doing any liquidised bread so tried a couple of pinkies on the hook just to get anything...first cast a nice perch looked a bit bigger than the 14 oz one i had the other day but with no scales to weigh it i was snookered, anyway at least i never blanked

i stuck with pinkies on the hook, either in 2's or 3's and started to catch small roach /perch and skimmers, i managed 4 better bream all about a couple of pounds and a carp of about 4lb's had me going for a bit on my number 5 elastic

all the fish were caught on red pinkie, anything else i never had a bite on, funny old game isnt it, i was getting better bites if i backed a foot or so away from were i was feeding today

roll on sunday
