NWASAC Pms round 10 match results

Post by heather »

Match Report: 10th Round of N.W.A.S.A.C. Personal Members Championship 2008, Sun 9.11.08, Otterspool Promenade, Liverpool (47 rods).

The wind and rain lashed promenade at Otterspool was hardly inviting but Liverpool Council’s investment in new railings and street lights rendered the venue eminently fishable on a night where others would not be. A blown off boat match swelled the ranks of anglers but Otterspool has yet to reach its annual peak and fish were hard to locate on some pegs.
One competitor who had no problem was long term P.M.s Section member Mike Emery from Onchan who has become a match regular on the mainland this year. His second cast codling of 47 cms for104 points, (strangely, the only one of the match) to crab, gave him a head start. He followed that up with a dab (again, the only one of the match) and a string of whiting for a convincing win over 2007 champion Kevin Martland. Mike thus won all of the major pools and left the match richer to the tune of nearly £200!
Jamie Pickup went into this final round of the championship with an eight point lead and there was all to play for. His 7th place on the night was sufficient to win the series by two points with 2006 champion, John Waugh, the runner-up

Results:
1. Mike Emery (Onchan), 1 codling, 1 dab, 10 whiting, 3110 gms.
2. Kevin Martland (Wallasey), 14 whiting, 2480 gms.
