Sounds like another case of the "rules don't apply to me" brigade.

Bait bans are not just there for the fun of them or to spoil peoples fun.

We do not allow groundbait on our club ponds. Why ? Because they are small ponds and if you allow groundbait, then Angler 1 will use half a pound, so Angler 2 will use a pound, then Angler 3 will use 2 pound and so on. Before you know it there will be islands of uneaten groundbait rotting away on the bottoms of the ponds creating poisons for the fish.

You cannot allow the tiniest amount as people will always go too far, even with a complete ban we still find empty groundbait bags left in the margins for our pond managers to clear up.

I would love to find either someone using groundbait or leaving litter they would be instantly banned from the club and named and shamed.

What is also annoying is the 'anglers' responsible for this, probably think it is funny or don't care that they have killed the best fish they are ever likely to catch.

Most people don't understand the fundamentals of using groundbait.They think the more you put in the more chance you have of catching.
