Why not come along to the B.L.A.S matches mate. We fish mainly for silverwear and most of the matches are based around Blackpool/Fleetwood

Nice one chaps, wheres good to go at the moment. I blindly bought a 2" bait pump and boy did I know it. I have since realised my mistake and replaced it with a 1" long slim one. I just need educating on what rigs/weights to use and when and where to fish.

Tides are tiny until Saturday.

Try Fleetwood Channel near the Little Lighthouse from tomorrow until Saturday.

Park opposite North Euston.

Fish over low water ( or even up to high -- tides are small enough -- but low preferred ).

Fish from the Wooden Light Post at the waters edge up to the ferry , anywhere along there.

You might see a line on the water going from 'near in' at the ferry to about 40 yards out by the Wooden Light Post. If you see the line, you will know what I mean, it is different water, choppy to left, flatter to right or the opposite.

Cast as near to that as you can, if you can't see it , just lob a bait 20-30 yards.

If you have kids with you and smaller rod, just flick a bait out , doesn't matter if your shockleader is still showing or even still on your rod -- they will catch something.

What size hook should I be using. think I am using a 2 hook pennel ATM with size 1 & 2 hooks. I am using live black lug as bait.

Sounds OK.

Size 1 or 2 will be OK.

Two hook flappers with 2 or size 4 would be OK too.

Don't underestimate some frozen black there as well ( Well I would say that as everyone on here will tell you ).

No it isn't.

I have been there with just frozen black and kids and caught plenty.

Peeler crab might be needed to win a match, but a Noob wanting to catch fish who probably has never used Peeler, doesn't need Peeler.

Peeler if you can get it and can use it will potentially be better, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it, or not go cause I didn't have it.

Left of Nautical College Jetty to the Wooden Pole Thingy with the Light on top at the bottom of 'the slip' opposite North Euston.

About Halfway is best, nearer wooden pole thingy need to cast a bit further, nearer Jetty a bit snaggier and faster water.

In middle a gentle lob to the 'line' if you can see it.

If you get snagged, keep fishing closer, until you are so close you will not believe you could catch -- you might !

Just got back from fishing the area mentioned above. I managed to catch a few mussels and even fished up a few weights and other odds n sods but no fish I was using live common lug and black lug as bait. There were a couple of lads that had travelled up here from Warrington. They also drew a blank.

i have seen and smelt jp,s 10 year frozen/refrozen old lug and it has caught there but i with shacky on this peeler is a must here for a non blanking session
