Which beach for a small tide ?

I can't think of where to fish tomorrow,any suggestions welcome. I'll be testing my new rod so I'll need room for the odd pendulum cast,so probably a beach venue. Tides are really small and the rivers/esturys might be poor because of the rain we've had. Don't want to travel more than half an hour or so from the Wirral.
Any suggestions very welcome.

I've had the same problem thinking of monday. I think mostyn fishes okay either side of low tide. Hoyle bank too... But I've never fished any of those places but carried out research.

I'm going to fish HW due to work in the morning. I've fished Mostyn lots in the past,always at LW, it won't suit me tomorrow tho coz a big cast will just miss the gulley and put me on a sandbank !
I think Hoyle bank is a good shout even tho I've never fished it before,it'll give me chance to get to know the rod a bit.

Incidently, would anybody recommend a decent low water venue formonday day time? anywhere from north wales to southport would do...

Talacre (take heed of safety info) or Deganwy are a good drive to get to mate.
Mostyn has fished well recently but we've had a lot of rain. Have you thought about Spike Island nearer to home ?? I'm sure there will be water to fish in at Low there, but don't take that as gospel as I've not fished it. A fellow called Morrow (on this site) is the man to ask about this venue.

If your fishing high i would have a little go at Oglet a few lads in speke have been having a good go over the last few weeks with a few nice fish caught or by Hale lighthouse same fishing as Oglet -the 4x4 required to get down there also good to test out the new rod see if you can hit elsmere port ha ha

Spike island is a option also on high you can pretty much gaurantee fish better on the high tide tho as the channel is shifting again!

Got 2 new marks that end of the Mersey that nobody fishes what so ever going to try them see what i get before i add it on here so hope to have new info on the venue soon am not one to hide my marks

There might be an adequate surf at Hoyle tomorrow. Winds slightly in the wrong direction. Fish it up to high water with blow lug for bass and flounder. Because the tide is under 8m you can fish it right up and over high water. Over 8m 8.2m ish the flats behind you will flood. Head out from Beach Road in the 11 o'clock direction. Might be there tomorrow myself although sunday may be better with stronger winds forecast.

Other option would be derby pool/harrison drive and fish the tide in.

Cracking info mate,cheers. Talking of blowlug,I believe its possible to use a pump for them(even tho its more difficult compared to black lug). Would I be able to pump while I fish???

Only at low water really where you fish. Although you can get them on the way (where the water would cover on a larger tide) but they're rather tricky to pump. Probably the only place to dig lug all through the tide.

You can get them a few hundred yards off the end of stanley road heading towards hilbre island easy enough. Although I've not pumped there in a while. Best spending 1/2 hour on Derby pool or somewhere to ensure your bait if you're just fishing the last few hours of the flood.

Leasowe gutter is a good mark on a small tides but these winds will have pushed loads of weed into the Gulley and not sure ya would want to treat a new rod to skull dragging in a load of weed every cast

What's it like at Hale Lighthouse fishing? Worth a bash next week if you're free?

A little further North, tides are ideal for Fleetwood Ferry on Monday and well worth a chuck there.
