Match Report: 6th round of N.W.A.S.A.C. Personal Members Championship 2012 2012, Sun 10.6.12, Greenfield, Flintshire (31 rods).


The Welsh side of the Dee Estuary has yet to find its form this year and this match was no exception with fish hard to locate on many pegs. Plaice, eels and flounders to fresh crab made up the modest catches but at the whistle, there was a tie between the two zone winners with Ian Griffiths being given the verdict as his best fish was a 40 cms plaice compared with John S. Williams' 39 cms flounder.
Third was Lancaster's Andy Young who located two good eels in the closing stages. Gordon Thornes' magnificent plaice of 46 cms was easily the best flatfish.
Carl Edwards consolidated his series lead with a fifth place from Zone B.

2. John S. Williams (Prenton), 134 cms, 3 flounders (one at 39 cms), 1 eel.

4. Ian Brookes (Birkenhead), 130 cms, 2 plaice, 1 eel.
5. Carl Edwards (Bootle), 121 cms, 2 eels, 2 flounders.
6. Gordon Thornes (Connah’s Quay), 1 eel, 1 plaice.
