CART BAIT ???? anyone used this stuff ??

hi all

last winter i was using fox arma mesh a lot cutting up worm crab etc ..putting into mesh and fishing on a pennel rig ..worked ok so this winter iam gonna try to expand on that thinking about cart bait ...

anybody tried it out ?????any feedback etc most welcome ????

I think it is used over on the East coast to good effect.I'm sure that Svenbren has used it in the past.He may well confirm it when he next looks in.

the yorkshire lads use it all the time i have also used it on the mersey/blackpool/wales not forgetting the east coast its a very good cocktail bait to use with worm/crab/fish baits best cut up your cart and prewrap it ready you can refreeze it when going fishing just take enough for a session put them in a flask and take each bait out single warm it in the palm of your hand untill you can wrap it onto your bait its used for the scent not a full bait the cart will or does fall off your hook (when it defrosts)leaving a trail leading upto your baited hook it does work the size of cuts of cart you use is upto your bait sizes or hook sizes dont forget a big bait does not mean bigger fish its your presentation and tide/weather and the good old bloody good luck

got a few ways to attach it to the hooks got some fox arma mesh ,cling film and also some collagen sausage skins ..... should be easy enough to load em up if its frozen .....
iam intending to fish it as cocktails like you suggest ,thinking something on the bottom hook of a pennel for the fish to grab hold of

did have a little go last winter with worm crab etc cut up in mesh bags squids head on the bottom hook ... caught me the only 3 cod i caught all year in the same session first time i used it proper..

better than the none my mates had though

maybe just a coincidence ? who knows ? but if it gives you confidence ...................

one of the lads as told me he uses plumbing ice spray very exspensive but works also (he can afford to use it borrows a few cans from his works then takes the empty ones back to replace to keep stock control happy

blankmaster dont cover your hook points i bind mine on the shank of the hooks

sorry for the late reply sven ...

yup ill be making sure the hook point sticks out as much as possible .. iam planning to tie them on rather than pierce with hooks it would be a bit tough with them been frozen solid ..when i did the mesh bags last year i was sticking a squids head or some crab or worm on the bottom hook but making sure the hookpoint was never masked ......
