The day or should i say night
started off on the wrong foot,as i arrived at Dave W`s at 2.55am only to find his drum in darkness 
i knocked a couple of times,and his dog was barking and running up and down the stairs,but still no sign of life 
Time and tide wait for no man,so after a final knock at 3am,with no response,i left for Wrexham to pick up Lee 
He was ready to rumble,so we had a quick cup of coffee before we set off.In the meantime,Dave had rang to say he was up and ready for action he`d been on the beer til 1.30am,and must have dozed off 
John Con was coming down,so he picked Dave up and we were to rendezvous at Caernarfon,along with Sven who was already camping at Parsal.We got to the crab fields at first light,and after a coffee,we went hunting
Not a large amount of crabs were peeling,though we found around 100 between us,which would be plenty for the days fishing.Next step was a lug digging session just further up the road,then on to Caernarfon town for a brekky.Our Dave had made his way down,and met up with us in the cafe.Mega breakfasts all round,and after a stop at North Wales Angling to pick up a few bits,we were on our way
We arrived at the car park at Newborough at 11am,and decided on a path to follow
30 mins later we arrived on the beach near the island 
The weather was a lot better than forecast,with the sun burning down another 30 mins walk along the island was needed to reach our chosen mark on the left of the island,near the lighthouse.There are some lovely views along the way....
We found a spot big enough to take all of us,and set up camp
The rocks were`nt too comfortable to fish from,but in daylight it was`nt a prob.Dave starts off on mack feathers
John,Lee and Our Dave go for bottom fishing rigs
It was`nt long before Dave was into the mackeral
I opted for a float attack with rag to see if any wrasse were around
Success,but only small
The tide was ebbing,and the water close in was soon too shallow for float work,so i changed to a 16g Dexter Wedge
Alas,nothing wanted to know it
Leger rigs were getting the dreaded dogs
At least everyone was catching something to start the day off
It certainly was a nice day to be afloat
Just when you think another dog has taken the bait,it soon became apparent to Lee that he was into something better
After a nice fight,he was bringing in his first ever Starry 
Not a monster at 4-5-0,but still a lovely fish
A large shoal of mack started bubbling on the surface,so a quick cast with feathers gave me this nice fella
John tried again for mack,but picked up a couple of gurnards instead
Bikini clad beauties distracted us from time to time
Dave W took the final species of the day...a dragonnet,which has a couple of very sharp spines,eh Dave...check out the blood stains on his hands
After a few hours,the ebbing tide became too strong to hold bottom,and weed was becoming a prob
We decided to call it a day and head back to fish the beach to the right of the island however,as you are in the middle of nowhere,and the sun is mad hot,and you`ve no drinks left,it`s no place to be when all you can think about is a nice cold beer,so we packed up all together and headed for the car park,stopping several times along the way,as the heat made it very hard going .To sum up,we really fished at the wrong time on the wrong tide,but you can`t always have it your way.A mid range tide on the flood would have given us sport all day without the weed.The beach to the right of the island looks very good,and should give plenty of bass sport....maybe another trip is required,when the weather is`nt so hot
On the plus side,everyone caught fish and we had mack,gurnard,dragonnet,dogs,smooth hound,wrasse,so it was`nt a bad day by any means
