Match Report: First round of N.W.A.S.A.C. Summer League, Sun 14.4.13, Otterspool Promenade, Liverpool (48 rods).


Fierce onshore gusting winds greeted the bumper attendance at this first of the five matches in the league. Flounders made up the bulk of the catches but the outstanding fish of the day was John Waugh’s 61 cms cod to frozen crab landed an hour before high water as the wind subsided. The recent long cold spell contributed to the fact that no eels were caught.
Reigning league champion Joe Perry recorded his third consecutive win in 2013 Association matches to make a perfect start to his defence of his title.
