Sh*t Weekend

Post by Big Kev »

One of those you`d rather forget  Myself and Bluecat made our way to 5 Bar Gate to meet up with the Blas crew....the weather was spot on for sun bathing, but fishing was always gunna be difficult :?
First plan of attack was to fill the stomach 8)

We set up and things did`nt look too bad
Image
It some became clear that we were on a series of shallow gullies/sandbanks,and no fish was gunna be anywhere near our baits in shallow water with the current bun beating down
Image
After 2 casts, myself Bren and Bluecat called it a day,and after a discussion Myself and Bren decided to shoot down to Point Lynas for some conger, then stay over and go out on his boat on the Sunday 8)
Things started going pear shaped when we got back to the cars....i took my gear from Micks and loaded it into Svens  we were all going for a keeeeeebab first :D that was until Svens van would`nt start  after looking under the bonnet,as though we knew what we were doing  Sven had a shufty underneath and found a broken wire :!: don`t ask me what it was,but when it was fixed, the engine started :D
By the time we reached the keeeeebab shop,Mick had gone
A couple of extra large fellas with loads of hot chilli, did`nt touch the sides :D
We stopped off at my gaff on the way,to pick up a few bits, then it was off to Lynas :D We got on the hot rock at midnight, and startec with large squid or mack baits :D time passed without a hint of an offer, then around 2.30am i had a rattle  resulting in this fine conger, estimated at just over 18lb literally :D
Image
At 3am we packed up and we`re gunna kip in the van in the lay by....might as well,as we`re in the middle of nowhere, and we were knackered :D just as we packed the gear away, along come 2 cars with boy racers/doggers/stereos blaring, and parked next to us
Sod it,lets drive to Parsal,as we`ll need to be there for the boat
We reached Caernarfon and i was falling asleep  Bren must have been goosed as he`d been working in the morning, and driving all day
We parked up at the side of the Straits, just passed Ronnies, and got our heads down around 4.30am
After both having extra large keeeebabs, the air in the van was a little pungent to say the least   We woke around 9 am,to be greeted by a beautiful calm sunny morning 8)

Sven has the van decked out with all the essentials :D

We drove the further 10 miles to Svens boat, but as were neared the site,we could see the sea getting rougher, and the trees bending in the wind  We had a breakfast of coffee and sausage sarnies, beautifully prepared on Brens cooker :D but the wind was`nt getting any better  reluctantly,we called it a day and headed home :? All in all a pretty oops weekend, but what can you do when your wellies let in :?:
winter fishing sucks
