A small hit squad of the WSF crew ventured down to Rhyl to board Alan's Boat "Warrior".The trip was set to be a 12 hour jobby doing a bit of wrecking .but with recent weather forecasts being unsure it was looking uncertain we could get out..
Had a call in the morning from Bren who was up at his boat at Trefor asking if we goin out ? On examining the sea state it was looking at a bit dodgy....

So......all aboard..!!! and off we set...



After 10mins of cruising we where into the mackies for bait!
and a few Tub Gurnard thrown in for good measure

Even BigDave caught !! a double header of plump dabs.


After bobbing around in the swell for around 2 or so hours i was starting to turn a whiter shade of pale, with a one way ticket to chunk city..... . or so i was thinking..........luckily i was fortunate enough to get stung in the face by a lost and very angry wasp.. ..it's amazing how quick the effects of sea sickness wear off... soon enough i was right as rain, and straight back into the fishing
The tide had just turned and the sea state started to flatten off nicely
So it was off out to do a few drifts over some wrecks..


Soon we where all into some nice Pollack around the 3lb-4lb mark on the Berkley Powerworm

Species caught where Dogs,Conger,Pollack,Whiting,Mackeral,Tub Gurnard,Grey Gurnard,Pouting,Weavers,Dabs,Poor Cod and a surprise Black Bream for me..
So it turned out to be a good day afterall, thanks to Alan for the sausage butties and brews as always and the good company from the rest of the WSF lads..

got to say,

the guy in the life jacket Jeff was a newbie to "proper" boat fishing in the past he had been on some "dodgy" trips ( hense the life jacket) to see his face when he had his first tug of the Pollock on his jelly worm was fantastic!!!! , if this site was created for anything it was to help guys like him get the enjoyment from fishing then it is a success, I was made up and so was every other person on the boat

Well Done to everybody onboard for helping him along and also for the one cooment that he made to me " NO ONE TOOK THE oops"
