Found myself in Southport alot lately but never seen anyone fishing, does anyone no if there are fish to be had around here or even bait collecting??

Black lug can be pumped at Ainsdale.We get very few reports of people fishing at Southport.

I remember nearly getting stuck in the mud near the pier 
trying to get out for some flattie-bashing years ago after hearing a mention of fish coming out and also catching plenty of flatties as a schoolboy from the marine lake on coarse gear, swing-tip tackle, with garden worms but not seen anyone on the beach fishing recently,
