Pensarn advice

Post by merseyparadise »

I'm wanting to pop my Bass cherry soon so thinking of a trip to Pensarn. I know there are better venues but I am limited to train as transport. Going to be going next Tuesday morning to fish UP to high so my question is....is there a mark close to the train station or is it a trek? Anyone fished it recently recommend any notable spots?

Cheers

I fish because I love to.... not because I regard fishing as being so terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant and not nearly so much fun.

Anywhere behind the station where there are gullies mate, I usually go to the left and fish just past the first sheeeite pipe, ive also fished to the right of the station and had Bass in the past, so yeh anywhere along that stretch should produce the goods.

Fishing up to high sound idea. Train station almost literally next to the beach so no problem there. Check out google earth as just down from the station are a couple of large pipes, if there aren't any nets out go for it. Good luck

Haha nice one for the flood of advice lads, bit like when a fit bird asks for a lighter in a pub and three come out at once!!

I'll give that a whirl....any particular bait for Billy Bass or just standard crab? Worth taking lug or squid? Any other species about at the minute?

Shed loads of lug to pump on that beach and that will do nicely for the bass....onshore breeze will improve your chances....the first hour of the flood is often good, then it goes a bit quiet until you reach the shingle bank.

I'm going on Sunday morning to fish up to high.
Never had any luck with a bass yet at pensarn because I'm not sure I'm fishing the right area.
Is there anyway of finding the gullies once the water is in.

There`s a crackin gulley at the far left end, fishing at the start of the boulders...the 2 bass at our last match came out from there,in very unfavourable conditions.

Talking to a bloke on Sunday, tried all baits, crab, worm etc, no bites at all, looks like it might need a bit of windy conditions..
